Various Types of Weight Training Equipments

What is the secret of a great physical fitness? Greatest athletes know that it isn't about how hard you train, or genetics, or luck, instead it's all about smart workouts. Give your body what it needs and when it needs it. How can you work out smarter? Just by learning about your body and knowing what works and what doesn't. Various weight training equipments have been designed for this purpose. You need to workout differently for different muscles in your body and for each type of muscle; its respective equipment is available.

Weight training uses a range of standard equipment such as free weights, benches, steps, fitness balls, treadmills and various machines such as leg extension, triceps push-down etc. If you are a highly motivated bodybuilder then you will definitely get awesome results from bodybuilding training by intensely working on these weight training equipments.

Examples of Weight Training Equipments

1. Dumbbells

Dumbbells are the most important piece of equipment in a gym. They are versatile and allow a wide range of workouts to be performed. In addition, exercises performed with dumbbells produce the greatest results in your body.

2. Barbell Set

A Barbell set would be the second piece of equipment that probably you'll find after dumbbells. With a barbell you can perform pretty heavy workouts in addition to giving variety to your workout routine.

3. Adjustable Bench with Leg Extension/Leg Curl Attachment

An adjustable bench is essential for long term gym training. This adjustable bench gives you the ability to do incline bench presses, seated dumbbell shoulder presses, incline curls, leg extensions, leg curls, and a complete range of other free weight exercises.

4. Squat Rack with Chin-Up Bar

As you will become more advanced, dumbbells will no longer affect you as you'll be too strong for your set of dumbbells. This is the time to add a squat rack to your workouts. With a squat rack you can perform some heavy exercises as you can self spot yourself by adjusting the safety bars on the side. Also with the chin-up bar you can start working on getting an even stronger back.

5. Standing Calf Raise Machine

You'll be able to workout one legged dumbbell calf raises and barbell calf raises on the squat rack. But, in order to get enormous calves (fleshy part of human leg below the knee), a standing calf raise machine is required and is really effective. Because of the calf block on the machine, you will get a full stretch and a full contraction, which are absolutely obligatory for complete calf development.
